Avon Grove Library - Summer Adult Programs

Throughout the summer, the Avon Grove Library will offer many opportunities for both learning and enjoyment for adults, including tribute programs for Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, and also a special visit from local author and historian Bruce Mowday.

Saturday, June 16 – 2:30 p.m. Frank Sinatra Lecture-in-Song

Meet Fred Miller as he gives a musical and anecdotal overview of the great American entertainer, Frank Sinatra's life & career. Join us for this musical tribute to a unique American entertainer, punctuated by anecdotes and biographical details drawn from an eventful, legendary life.

Saturday, July 14 – 1 p.m. Behind the Scenes of the Johnston Gang

Learn about the Chester County history of the Johnston Gang! Go behind the scenes and learn updates from local author/historian Bruce Mowday who covered the crimes of these serial murders as a newspaper reporter. Join us as he discusses his interview to A&E for their new TV show on this famous family.

July 28 – 3:30 p.m. How Bob Dylan Influenced the Beatles

              With his folksy guitar playing and philosophical lyrics, no other contemporary influenced the songwriting of John Lennon and Paul McCartney more than Bob Dylan. This 60-minute multimedia presentation by Aaron Krerowicz will trace the compositional maturation of the Beatles, showing how they developed from teeny bopper pop stars into the foremost musical artists of their era by illustrating in detail Dylan's influence.

Area residents can learn more about storytimes, classes and programs for children, families and adults at, which is updated frequently with new programs and details.
