United Way of Southern Chester County Announces Appointment of New CEO

United Way of Southern Chester County is pleased to announce that Terry R. Vodery has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (designate), as of July 5, 2022.

Vodery is the former Executive Director of United Way of Cecil County, MD, where she was responsible for setting and implementing strategies which led the organization through the  unprecedented challenges and demands of  the COVID-19 pandemic. In her role as Executive Director, she was  responsible for financial and business affairs, including the annual campaign, and worked  across private, public and corporate sectors to improve conditions for the people of  Cecil County, MD.

In her 20 years as a nonprofit advancement professional, Terry has worked for United Way of Delaware, the University of Delaware and the Music School of Delaware. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors of New Horizon Now, a multi-service agency serving needy families in Camden County, NJ.

Terry is a proud alumna of Lincoln University, PA. She is a native of Delaware, and the mother of an “amazing and wonderful” son.

Terry will replace CEO Carrie Freeman, who has faithfully served United Way of Southern Chester County for nearly 20 years.  Freeman will remain with United Way of Southern Chester County through August 2022, supporting the transition.
